I would suggest you to follow the methods given below and check.

  • What do you mean when you say "How do I unlink my Microsoft account from Local account in Windows 10? " ?

Microsoft account and local account are two different things.

I would suggest you to create another local account and check.

  1. Press windows key + X key and select Control panel.
  2. In Control panel select User Account.
  3. In user Account Click on Manage another account.
  4. Click on Add a new user in PC settings.
  5. Click Add someone else to this PC.
  6. Click on The person I want add doesn't have an email address.

I switched back to local account. It was very simple like in windows 8. All good now. Thank you anyway

In case anyone finds themselves here and wants to know the answer...

1. Open Control Panel

2. Click on User Accounts

3. Click on "Make changes to my account in PC settings"

4. Click "Sign on with a local account instead"

5. Follow the prompts and enter your password when requested
